Flores is an environmental economics professor at CU Boulder who specializes in the development and refinement of methodologies for eliciting environmental preferences. Dr. Kopp is a research scientist at CU Boulder with a background in solar physics and aerospace instrumentation.</p>

<p><b>What? </b>Filmmaker James Balog will participate in a public interview and examine the making of his film Chasing Ice. This event will focus on the connection between art and environmental science, and how Balog’s photography has shown viewers worldwide what real, visual changes can occur as a result of climate change. Unseen footage will be presented and Balog will share his insights and plans for future work.</p>

This presentation, by Lynate Pettengill of the Citizens Climate Lobby, will help you understand what greenhouse gases are being released into the atmosphere as a result of human activity and how those gases must be reduced to protect the natural environment.</p>

<p><b>Local Fracking: Lecture Series Continues</b></p>
<p><b>What? </b>This week’s fracking information session and discussion is presented by Kirby Wynn, a gas and oil liaison between Garfield County and the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. Wynn’s insight into Garfield County’s experience with fracking will be presented with a focus on how other industry players can succeed in building relationships with the community. This ongoing lecture series about natural gas development will continue meeting weekly through May 2013.</p>
